Skinny Chocolate

Yummy, ok so this recipe is daddy approved and he really love chocolate so I think it's pretty good! This recipe is simple, clean and healthy.

1.) 3 tbs. coconut oil

Just melt that into a liquid.

Add 2 tbs of coco powder unsweetened!
Mix that thoroughly that add 1 tbs of sweetener I like honey or agave.
Steiva is really if you like really good dark chocolate but I didn't like it as much. If you use the extract you only need 1/2 tsp it's much more potent!
Freeze to solidify and keep in freezer!

Enjoy your skinny chocolate, I love this recipe and really live off the stuff.

Ballet Beautiful

I love trying new workouts! I think its fun to change things up like I said before running has really kept me grounded no matter what I do I run at least 3 times a week and that really help to keep a healthy metabolism. But a few months ago a friend of mind recommend I try Ballet Beautiful so I pick up Mary Helen Bowers book Ballet Beautiful as soon as I start I was intrigued by her amazing journey, her positive out look on life and all her very challenging ballet based exercise.

Basically, she was a professional ballerina who now has started her own business of at home exercise and really knows her stuff. I was very inspired by her story but that was nothing when I got her dvd's she had me absolutely dying but Mary Helen does it in a way that you just can't stop! She always has a smile and a really positive attitude that is completely infectious as well as really effective exercise. By the way Mary Helen trains Victoria Secret Angles believe me it works.
I highly recommend Mary Helen and her amazing Ballet Beautiful workouts they are some of the best. www.balletbeautiful.com

Motivation

Motivation is such a hard thing to get sometimes you feel like it and sometimes you don't! I wanted to share with all of you what motivates me to workout but also just to get things done in life. You gotta do what you gotta do!

1.) Find someone! I cannot stress this enough if I did not have someone to run with I would not go running half the time it is really the best motivator I have found!
2.) Pinterest! This might seem a bite silly but I really do get motivated by looking at really fit girls working out on Pinterest, funny workout quotes or just someone saying really positive things. Here is my Pinterest for my fit girl board http://www.pinterest.com/bousfieldh/fit-girl/ I pin lots and lots of motivational stuff!
3.) Positive People! Now these might not be people you workout with but if you have friends that you can talk to about what they are doing and what's working for them it can really help you stay on track.
4.) Tone it up Community. Its free and it really great to see a bunch of girls checking in on how many miles they have done or what workout they did! I love it and everyone is really positive!
5.)  Don't miss a Monday! I heard this somewhere and I have found it to be really true if you start your week out with exercise it just carries through the whole week with a positive course accordingly if you don't its very hard to get going later in the week! Don't miss a Monday.

Motivation can be found in people, places and things but one of the best ways to stay motivated is to stay connected. Follow Fit Girl! You will get little reminders to workout every time I post.

" Most people say motivation doesn't last.
Well, neither does why we suggest it daily." - Zig Ziglar

A Year of Running: My Story

My love for running all start about a year ago (Jan 1, 2013) at a 5k/10k run that I was helping with called Resolve2Run ( here is a link if you are interested www.resolve2run.com). I had always thought of running as cruel and usual punishment people put themselves through if they wanted to lose weight or be active and I never thought that I sounded that great I mean, really running a couple miles that doesn't sound that fun. Little did I know that my whole perspective was about to change!

That morning I saw something about running that I had never seen before and its hard to put my finger on but I think the best way to describe it would be that my perspective and the way I thought about running really change from "I would never put my body through that torture" to "I can see that there is so much more to running than the pain". From that moment I wanted to run and believe me when I mean want too, I really wanted to. I guest in some ways running is an addiction but lets face it's a really great thing to be addiction much better than food( I still love to eat). Once my mind changed the battle had already been one because running really is 100% mental.

I started running end of January and I would only be able to run a few minutes before I was out of breath and then walk and run over and over again. I ran three times a week and sometimes on weekends and never on the treadmill. I really, really hated the treadmill (what can I say I got bored) but this kind of running was different I went places and each time I could go further. So, one of the best days of 2013 for me was August 3rd. The day I ran my first  5k "The Color Run" that's it I'm totally addicted! There is nothing like the feeling you get when I you cross the finish line. My first 5k was not the fastest but I tried my hardest and that made me feel amazing.

I can honestly say that running this year has been one of the best decisions I've ever made whether it was a mile or four it was a run and I Just did it! It didn't always fell great but I never regretted a run.
If you are considering running start now and don't stop you will never look back and say I wish a didn't start running but you probably will look back and I wish I had. It not only changes your body It changes your mind. I so thankful to have had an amazing running partner who even if I didn't feel like it that day she still got me to go. I have started running and I'm not stopping anytime soon!

Fit Girl Tip

To start your week off right here is one of my favorite nutrition tips out there. I sure many of you have heard numerous benefits to drinking water and lots of it and it might seem like an over used boring topic but don't turn off yet. There are ways to be hydrated without drowning in water.

My personal favorite is green tea because it not only hydrates it also boost your metabolism. I have my drinking green tea for years now and have defiantly seen a difference in the way I burn calories as well as the way my skin looks.

You need half your body weight in ounces of water/tea (juice and soda don't count)
If you commit to filling your body with the nutrients it need then it will work better for you i.e. burn calories! Good luck Fit Girl.
